FOTD Fridays: Pink + Turqoise

I think this was by far the most difficult make-up look I've attempted to do so far, phew! It was done using the Coastal Scents 88 matte palette and what made it time-consuming was 1. using bright colors and 2. getting them to show up & not fade by layering a ton of eyeshadow on. The blue and mint green shadows where all used wet to deepen intensity. Also, you can make this look less bright or smokier by adding more black in the outer corner.

Make-up used:
NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk
Maybelline Colossal mascara
MAC eyeliner in Graphblack
Estee Lauder brow pencil
MAC Shroom (highlight)

From the CS 88 palette (marked from A-G in order used):
A: Sea blue
B: Baby blue
C: Light baby blue
D: Light mint green
E: Hot pink
F: Fuchsia
G: Black

FOTD Fridays: Golden Neutrals

Last night I went out for sushi with friends after soooo long but I think I more then made up for lost time with the amount of sushi consumed. :) I got to try different kinds but my favorites always remain the shrimp or salmon sushi rolls. If you haven't and get the chance to - you should try a combination of battered shrimp with mango and cream cheese.

For my make-up I tried something different then my usual, with this (skin) toned golden lid and dark brown crease - not the craziest look ha ha, but I love it because of the gold tones. Excuse my super serious expression..

SKIN:
Proactive daily oil control lotion (primer)
Coastal Scents camo quad in Medium (under eyes)
Benefit eye bright (under eyes)
L'oreal studio secrets peach skin correcting primer (under eyes)
Revlon colorstay foundation in 310
MAC 130 brush
Maybelline pressed powder
Benefit moon beam (highlight)

EYES:
Estee Lauder brow pencil
Anastasia brow wax
MAC technakohl in Graphblack
Too faced primer potion
NYX jumbo pencil in Milk (thin layer used as base)
MAC Dream Maker eyeshadow (highlight)
Maybelline Define-a-lash volume mascara
Rimmel liquid liner

From Coastal Scents 88 Matte palette:
A. Beige shimmer on lid
B. Peachy shimmer on lid
C. Shimmery light brown (in + above crease, lower lashline
D. Expresso brown (to darken crease)

CHEEKS:
Benefit Coralista
NYC Sun2Sun Bronzer (light contour)

LIPS:
Concealer
NYX lipliner in Soft brown
NYX Smokey look lipgloss

FOTD Fridays: Pink & Purple

From now on I want to try and do a FOTD every Friday. I'm usually never one to do bright looks and always lean towards neutrals because they're classy & easy to get done when I'm in a hurry, but lately I've finally started experimenting with my Coastal Scents palette in my free time. (Yeah, wow like after a whole year of having it!) The best way to really get these to apply bright is by using them wet.

What has inspired me? Well, bloggers of course, who never fail to wow me with their intricate looks and confidence while showcasing their works of facial art. :)

Here's me trying my first bright EOTD--> a smokey purple and pink look:

Without flash
With flash

Tutorial:

Step 1.: NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk (all over lid and crease) and filled in brows.

Step 2: From Coastal Scents 88 Matte Palette:
*Medium purple (A) applied wet and patted on lid
*Applied  dark purple (C) in and above crease
*Applied black (D) in a fine line to darken crease; then blended out
*Applied pink (B) into inner half of eyelid
*Faded out crease with medium purple (A)
*Applied pink (B) and dark purple (C) to lower lash-line
*Beige (E) applied to highlight brow

Step 3: MAC Shroom (a sheer champagne shimmer) applied over brow bone.

Step 4: Under Eye concealer to cover any fall out.

Step 5: Maybelline Collosal eyeshadow, Liquid liner and lower lashine where lined.

My Quick FOTD

Didn't have much time to get ready, but even when I do, lately, this is pretty much the make-up I use: foundation, concealer, pressed powder, liner and blush (alternating brands and colors of course). I like keeping it simple, because 1. it's quicker to get out the door if I'm late and 2. it's easier not to mess up.

Ha, this picture is kind of unflattering, but rest assured, I don't have a beard.. :/
Foundation: Revlon Colorstay in shade 310
Concealer (under eyes): Coastal Scents Camo Quad in Medium
Pressed powder by Maybelline
Eyeliner: Rimmel Eyeshadow in Jet Black applied wet
Brows: Estee Lauder liner in black and Anastasia Brow Wax pencil
Highlight: MAC Dream Maker eyeshadow
Blush: Korres Zea Mays in Orange applied lightly

For the brow highlight I used MAC Dream Maker, then I noticed it's more of a gold frost (but still pretty- specially paired with this orange and gold blush!), so I think next time I'll be switching to MAC Shroom instead for daytime, and use this for evening looks.
